JB Cargal had his site from 97-01, which is the 'original pig' and pretty much the first true football message board on the web for TXHSFB, and also the most successful at that time. He ran a full-service website with rankings, stats and other fun stuff

Matt328/Gobbla/Bearcat (The DL), KT2000 (5ATFB), Me (2A) and many others were on this original board

txpreps (allsports)

When he stopped in 2001, RV Baugus started the replacement, although it never really panned out to much, other than the message board, which is where pretty much everyone else ended up from ***********

around this time, all of us kind of split off and formed our own sites in 2001, but many still continued to use the allsports forum as our main message board (other than this one, of course)

Now that the allsports forum shut down last fall, most of those piggies have further migrated here, or to texaaaasports.com or other such sites.

Unfortunately, 3A Down Low is not the pig (thank goodness). We don't mind pigsters showing up here, but this forum will stay MUCH cleaner than the pig did. Some of this thread is already skirting the "edge".

Thank goodness? are you serious? Im starting to come accustomed to this site, but the pig is by FAR my favorite and im sure several posters would agree. There is nothing wrong with this site, but the pig was 5A-6man with alot more different personalitys. I know im only 25, and im not calling anybody out but there seems to be more "punk kids" on this site just looking for an arguement.

And that comment "We dont mind pigsters showing up here" that right there makes me feel like YALL have already drawn the line between friend and foe. Last time I checked we were all POSTERS who like discussing texas high school football (for the most part). YALL are no different then we are, but if you wanna get technical WE have been around alot longer then YALL have.

Read the statement in context. You quoted only a portion of my statement. Tack on the rest of it behind the comma, and it takes on a different meaning. Sorry, but I hated the pig. When I found this site, I never went back. I found a "home" and here I stayed.

IMHO, sometimes the pig was okay and sometimes it wasn't. But everybody feels differently, not everybody hated the pig. I'm glad you like 3ADL, I do too. To be truthful, if the pig was still around, I would prolly still be posting over there. But then I post on several sites, some more than others. :D

Actually....we have done two "demographic" polls...and if memory serves me correctly, we actually have more posters between the ages of 30 - 40 than any other age group!!

I had no problem with the Pig....I didn't feel the "family" atmosphere like I do here though.

It WAS the best place, hands down, to find football scores though! You could request a score for a game and you had no less than 10 posters trying to find the score for you!!

Yeah, I was a pigster back in the day. I read this site from time to time. Post on occasion. But I'm at a AA school, so I don't really have a horse in this race.

When I first starting posting on the pig, C4L was a pretty funny guy. I had gone to Tech, so we had some things in common. He went off the deep end and left for awhile. Boy, that was a long time ago it seems.

I pretty much post on TOC and a little bit on a fairly new AA site.

But I remember lots of the folks mentioned in this thread.

They have it made in the shade this summer. The field has an automatic sprinkler systerm, so no moving irrigation pipe all summer. Absolutely nothing for super1 to do but sit on his ass at home and hit all the free porn sites on the net.;)
