It's tough to repeat. Everyone will be gunning for them. They will not have the advantage of being the underdog anymore.

After winning the state championship game by one point, I'd say they were fairly well matched with Robinson. It wasn't a blow-out.

Texarkana L-E will need to be even better this year if they plan to hold off all the hungry, motivated teams that want their turn at the top of the hill.

LE football will be different in a lot of ways this year, and the same in some. You're right, there were some close games last year, and some of those same teams will be in the hunt again. LE has a good chance, though. Their athleticism and speed just doesn't quit.

Winning a state title is a whole lot about timing. L.E. was hungry enough and talented enough to get it done last year. They had athletic players and some speed, but anyone that played against PALESTINE (wow), they were by FAR the most athletic and fastest team we played. Celina was close because they have "football speed" that can't be measured with a stopwatch.

I feel the match-up wasnt that even
big difference in the game was turnovers
Robinson had been helped by turnovers (everyone has) in previous games
but to lose by 1 with the following I feel the 2 teams were not evenly matched

LE—Stedmon Dewberry fumble recovery in end zone (Will Middlebrooks kick), 10:18

LE—Emmanual Fagan 5 fumble return (pass failed), 8:07

LE—Blair Taylor fumble recovery of blocked punt in end zone (James run), 7:54

Fumbles-Lost LE 1-0 RR 7-3
First Downs LE 12 RR 26
Rushes-Yards LE 31-189 RR 54-408
Total Yards LE 282 RR 561

Im sure some of you will say quit crying
Im not
LE won fair and square
We turned the ball over a lot
had a punt blocked
made too many mistakes
LE won on the scoreboard and thats what counts
I still feel they were not evenly matched
reverse the circumstances and Robinson wins by 28-35
some of you will now say stats are for losers
so be it

LE is the state champion

great year for both teams

It will be tough for ethier to go back again

This is good for Gilmer...L-E overlooking the first round opponent. We saw what happened last year when the Buckeyes did that.
