The Acoustic a Washburn?nope, its a dean performer quilt, the sound hooked up and unhooked is comprable to that of a taylor. i had thought about getting a washburn till i played this guitar, much better sound from the dean. it uses the same pickups that a lot of taylors use. taylors, by the way for all of you out there, are the best acoustic guitars you can buy, even better than martins and gibsons. i just couldnt afford a taylor, hehe, i have a friend that just got a 310ce at guitar center in arlington(?) and it was marked at $1370 and he talked them down to $1260 plus a free a-frame stand. so youll be paying a pretty penny to get a taylor.

You don't know how hard it is to get my jaw off the ground inside of the acoustic-room at Guitar Center in Austin...

Right now I have an Ovation Glenn Campbell series (no longer sold, discontinued) that I got from my grandfather before he died, but I wanna retire it...

I really like the shape of the Ovation because it's comfortable to play but I'm wanting that 'all-wood' sound you get with the others...

Taylors and Martins have wonderful sounds...

But Ibanez isn't bad themselves... They have really nice disigns and are pretty comfy to play...

yeah, i was wanting to get an ovation as well, but i saw the design and played the dean at another store in austin actually. strait music in south austin has a great selection of acoustics. i had an epiphone les paul, cherry sunburst, beautiful guitar that i didnt play much, so i used to towards the purchase of my dean. i like the new ovations that are out, the new tangent ones, some have carbon fiber tops and stuff and onboard tuners are awesome upgrades to the guitars. but i really do like the all-wood guitars better than the composite sound. but if you ever get the chance, look for a guitar called the parker superfly. this guitar is an electric guitar that can sound like an acoustic, i mean, just like an acoustic. awesome stuff.

Yah, the new ovations are so beautiful with their cut-outs etc...

They have another one, I've only seen it in blue, called the MOB (meaning My Other Board, for surfers I guess) and it's okay...

I wanted to go to Strait music one day, found it online, just never got to it...

you have no idea how close i was to actually getting the MOB guitar! i was going to get the mid-depth bowl, but gc in austin didnt carry either one, and i definitley wasnt going to buy without playing first. but ive played the shallow bowl since then, and it was pretty nice, the color is off the hizzy!

which one do they have at gc? I dunno all the details on it but they had one there (right when you walk in after the desk)... this one was a sky blue, was pretty tight...

I dunno all the details on it but they had one there (right when you walk in after the desk)... this one was a sky blue, was pretty tight...they only come in the blue color, but most likely it was the shallow bowl. i like the mid-depth ones bc they have a fuller sound and stuff, but they definitley are an awesome guitar.

Yah, I like the deeper sound...

I just love that acoustic room there...

Like a kid in a candy store...
