Floodgates (http://youtube.com/watch?v=JpUQFQ1TuoU)

UPDATE JULY 3rd. The current forecast crest on Lake Texoma is now 640.5 on/about 07/08/07. It is forecasted to reach the 640 level by 6:00 pm on July 5, 2007.

UPDATE JULY 2nd The current forecast crest on Lake Texoma is now 640.0 about noon on 07/05/07.
Pool elevation is 635.22 feet on Monday 02Jul07 Time: 1600 hours. THIS MEANS IT WILL GO OVER THE SPILLWAY!!!

July 1st. As of Sunday morning Lake Texoma was at 633, that is 15 feet above normal level which is 618. The forcast is for the lake to be at 639.32 on July 11th. The Spillway is at 640. What are the odds that the level goes over the spillway, I would say pretty good with rain in the forcast. As it stands right now this is the third highest the lake has ever been. Here is a link to the Corps of Engineer's site for lake levels

I remember the 1990 flood. It wiped out a lot of land on the OK/TX border between Hugo and Paris. It also sent the Kiamichi River over the bridge and highway east of Antlers...that was wild...I had to drive from Antlers to Hugo then to Rattan to go to work...what was a 13 mile trip turned into a 40 mile trip.

i remember a summer (maybe it was 1990) when it rained for two weeks solid in july

much better than the summer when dallas had 100+ consecutive 100+ degree days (i think that was 1999 or so)

of course, i also remember when the mexican fields were on fire (i think in 1998) and you could smell smoke when you stepped outside

we are doing the state track meet
Austin ISD has an air hazard alert for all the school kids
no recess
we are out in 100+ degree heat working the state meet
yeah I think grass was burning down south
and not Bermuda lol

It was good to finally go to the Garten and cool off with a cold one
It was a tough 2 days

My husband was in one of the marinas at Lake Texoma yesterday and they were scrambling to get everything ready for the water to come in.
