went and saw the great Merle Haggard last night

he didn't play Mama Tried or Drink Up and Be Somebody

But he was pretty good. Lot of energy for someone his age. I was expecting it to be more like the David Allan Coe concert I saw 2 years ago, with DAC sitting the whole time and just playing classics, but Merle stood, played guitar, and played some new material.

I'm proud of you Carter! Except......do NOT even try and compare Merle Haggard and DAC. :eek:

I do agree that Merle is much better than Coe.

I used Coe to show how much better Merle's show was than the other concerts i've seen of people close to his age.

DAC bored me at times. Merle did not.
