I had that almost happen to me as a kid, luckily we didn't collide and I just flew over the trunk of the car.(I hit the brakes and the bike slid out from under me). That's why I no longer have any interest in riding motorcycles. It doesn't matter how good a rider you are, you can't make up for the other drivers.

Well I guess I have a death wish. I had it happen once.No serious injuries and I still ride.

Motorcycling is a serious business. No matter how careful and how good of a rider you are it can happen anytime.

With the advent of cell phones, other distractions to the drivers and the explosion of city populations there is increased risk of accidents to cyclist. I as a rule avoid high population centers as much as I can.

What is bad is a lot of motorcycle/car wrecks are caused by inattentive drivers of the cars...who think they are in control of the road!

I'm with ya OG...on avoiding the highly populated areas!
