He really wanted that double but it's okay. He is still Mr. 3000. :D

Biggio has now hit number 3001 and he is 4-5 for the night(4 singles, 1 RBI). He got a leadoff single in the bottom of the 9th. Game still tied at 4.

He get credited for a single since he was safe at first if he had stopped there.

Carlos Lee, Hunter Pence, Lance Berkman, Mark Loretta, Craig Biggio.

Astros should be better than they are. Tonight is the start of the comeback.

Agreed. I used slide rule, computer and solar powered calculator to determine that 3000th hit would come Thursday nite on first game of this homestand. I bought tickets about two weeks ago.
Then when Astros held him out of a few games on road trip, I thought it won't happen. Won't get three hits.

Instead, he gets five and it's one of the best Astro games I've ever seen on top of it.

What an unbelieveable night! And to think I almost passed on last night's tickets to go Saturday instead...

I've been to countless Astros games over the years and I've never heard a crowd that loud. It was awesome! I think I actually caught some video of #3000 on my wife's digital. The battery was getting flaky near the end of the game so I'll have to look after it charges. I know I got a few pics.

Last night Bidge's 3,000th...tonight The Police. Pretty good weekend so far and it's only Friday!

Do you have to flaunt this? Please refrain from twisting the knife while it's jabbed into me. You got to see the 3000th hit AND you get to see the police tonight? You lucky dog.... The only way I'm seeing the police tonight is if the neighbors call for loud and disorderly conduct.

Biggio's 5th hit of the night came in the bottom of the 11th with 2 outs and nobody on when he beat out a slow roller to short! He maybe 50 yrs old but he can still run!

In reading the many articles, columns, etc. about Biggio this morning, nearly every single one contains the same attribute.........

"Plays the game the right way"

His hustle and determination is what makes him such a special ballplayer. He legs out every routine ground ball as if it were game 7 of the World Series. Even for his 3,000th hit, at age 41, when most guys are just happy to get on base, there he was trying to stretch a single into a double and put his team in a position to win the game.

Congrats on 3,000, Craig!:)
