The great 1936 movie is coming to the Fox Movie Channel on July 7, 2007 at 5 A.M. This is a great ganster movie starring Brian Donlevy and Gloria Stuart. A wanted bank robber killer living in Los Angeles has a $150,000 sweepstake number and takes a train to Kansas with his gang to collect. About 2/3 of the movie takes place on the train going from Los Angeles to Kansas. Stephen Fetchit is halarious as Flash, the Pullman Porter.

Also in the movie briefly is Gloria Mitzi Carpenter who is a nine year old girl traveling alone to Chicago from Los Angeles. She was very good in the movie but strange to say except for one more movie in 1945 this was to be her only movie. She was born in 1927 and sad to say we lost her in 1958.

Gloria Stuart was a beautiful actress and could have had a great career but choose to not act very much. She did take the role of Old Rose in the 1997 Oscar Winning movie Titanic in which she won an oscar nomination. Be sure to watch this movie to see Gloria when she was much younger.
