he is doing pretty good.. he was leading the race for a while yesterday then went to 2nd had to pit and he finished 13th..


he is 12th in the standings after last weeks race and is still holding strong. Last year he finished 5th in the points.

I don't know a thing about NASCAR but I was wondering why so many people hate Jeff Gordon? Is he a jerk? Did he do something to infuriate the nascar fan base? Did he just win alot so it is envogue to dislike Gordon (like some people hate the cowboys)? I really don't have a dog in this fight...I was just wondering.

He's from California, drove a rainbow car, and won races without wrecking people.

It's mostly the old school Earnhardt Sr. fans that got the whole thing started. Here came this baby faced kid with a whispy mustache actually challenging the Intimidator...and driving a rainbow car!!!:eek: It all started from there. Plus he's just kind of a geek in a way. He's not my favorite but you have to admit he's one of the best ever.

It was pretty much the fact that he was beating Earnhardt back when he was alive. I personally have liked him ever since he started driving.

I havent ever liked him.. My parents on the other hand who are also huge nascar fans love him to death. Something about him just rubs me the wrong way but I will admit hes a damn good driver.. As somebody pointed out a few weeks ago its usually a bad combo when Gordon and Jr fans are together so it will be interesting to see how it plays out when Jr goes to Hendrick next season.

guy I work with is a huge Jr. fan, goes to the races in Texas every year... said he doesn't know what to think about Jr. being teammates with that Gordon fella... seems depressed about it honestly...

he's mucho conservative about his nascar though... I bring up lines from Taladega Nights and gets all pissed off "that movie is sick, there aint no queers in Nascar..... 'cept maybe Jeff Gordon!"
