For best supporting players, maybe Cody Warner up in Burnet, Clint Hanie in Forney and Brandt Goeke in Bellville.

QB]How does Andrus top the Player list? He wasn't the best player in his district.

And Sealy's one-dimensional Offense certainly shouldn't crack the top 5. Bandera, Everman, Bellville, Marlin all rank ahead of them.

I nominate Fairfield to be in the running for best Defense.

I nominate Fairfield to be in the running for best Defense.Buenger may have been named 23-3A MVP, but it'll be Andrus' show next year. :D :D :D

As far as a one-dimensional offense, it works for Forney and Everman. Why not Sealy?

The Everman offense has too many question marks after losing most of their guys from the past two years. Them and Bandera lose just about everything to graduation. I'd be willing to group Bellville and Marlin in there with Sealy and Greenwood, but I don't know if I'd put them ahead of the big three.

I might buy into Fairfield.

Give us your list, 22.

Big Daddy Russ: I'm big enough to fess up when I make a mistake. I started typing before I read carefully, I thought this was talking about this past season's performances. My mistake.

As I look at your list again, I can buy into it a bit more. Andrus is a great runner, no doubt. Would I put him at the top of that list? No way. I'm not sure Buenger is ready to step down of the mountain in that district. He's got a great group of recievers returning. His safety valve, and big hands guy TE Ford is gone, but I look for the scheme to advance even more to help make up for that, and to let this kid make plays as often as possible. I don't know a great deal about alot of other teams away from my area, so can't really provide researched picks. I'm comfortable throwing the Burnet duo at the top of my Best Player list though. Don't have a problem w/ Andrus being on there, just give Buenger his props too.

Best Supporting: I like your Goeke pick, tremendous target for Buenger, not to mention a foot that let them win some games.

Apologize again for my mistake, can't wait til next year.

It's all good, 22. I love to hear what other people have to say and I love to defend my picks. If you have a differing opinion, by all means post them. It's all in good fun and you've been a good sport on this forum so it didn't bug me one bit. Bellville's gonna be tough next year.

Keep 'em coming, guys.

These are all great nominations.
3a football in 2003 should be amazing no matter who wins it all.

But who forgot about Neiman Busch from Everman as one of 3a's best QB's? It is his team next year and if they can fill some holes in the line, Everman should be deadly with Busch at the helm.

Busch is a mobile QB who can throw on the run. With Everman's triple option, he should be great. Just something to keep an eye on.

Big Daddy,

Forney's big QB is named Caleb not Chris. :D but I agree, he should have a banner year. After watching him last year it would not surprise me to see him get a ride somewhere big. He has all the tools. Strong Arm, and he runs like a friggin fullback. :p

For best special teams player, why not the punter from Port Isabel, Orlando Ochoa?

And as far as KR/PR goes, Port Isabel also had a good one in Joe Arevalo.

Misael Iracheta will be one of the best WR/DBs in the state next year. Also watch out for Johnny Nieto, he will most likely be Port Isabel's featured back next season after playing FB for Joey Loera who is now graduating. Nieto is a step faster than Loera, and runs with power. But if they move Iracheta to RB.......you can fuhgeddaboutit! Iracheta is also one of the fastest players in the state, and if he's at RB, not many would be able to catch him. Just all depends on what the best COACH in the state, Monty Stumbaugh, decides to do.

I believe PR/KR could be Joseph Krebs of Bridgeport, and best kicker of course Jon Lopez of Gainesville
