Rangers and Astros renew the start of the last of 3 games to night at 7:00 the rangers currently have the lead in the lone star series and are poised to futher their position. The Rangers currently hold a 2-1 lead over the Asstros and have out scored them by a total of 22-11.. The Asstros are catching the Rangers at the wrong time, they've won four out of their last six games and are the hottest they have been all year. I'm sensing a sweep of the stros this weekend.. The rangers will get the boot

too bad they don't play in the NL, and they have the worst record (or near worst now) in all of baseball

as a rangers fan, these times are tough, but every year since ever they have needed pitching and defense, and every year they grab a slugger and hit 250 home runs and have an ERA over 5

If the stros can keep those bats hot, the series could get interesting. We'll see soon enough.

Two teams going nowhere and getting there real fast battling for a trophy that'll proclaim them as the best of the worst in the state of Texas. That's some good drama right there!

And don't forget about Robert Earl Keen after the game Saturday! I have to be at a 7 on 7 tournament Saturday in Farmers Branch, but two of my sons will make the game.

one down, two to go.. the rangers pretty much have the silver boot won now, a win tomorrow will clinch a series win and the Rangers will be considered the champions of Texas

the last time texas won the boot, 2005, the stros went to the world series. can history repeat itself? they were 15 games under .500 that year. I wish it would, but it won't.

Texas Rangers :) They seem to be playing better pass week but its been against the weak National Leaguers. If they keep playing like they have against the AL maybe they can get back into the Wildcard race.

11-9 Astros and still in top of 10th with 1 out and runners 2nd and 1st. Don't think the Astros can blow the lead for the 3rd striaght inning.

WORLD SERIES APPEARANCES:
Houston 1
Texas 0

PLAYOFF APPEARANCES
Houston 8
Texas 3

DIVISION TITLES:
Houston 6
Texas 3

WINNING PERCENTAGE: (coming into 2007 season)
Houston .499
Texas .467

I know, I know you Rangers fans will whine that the Rangers didnt exist until 1972, the Astros had a ten year head start on them. Truth is, Houston never had a winning season until '72 and never made the playoffs until '80. So, in the Rangers existance, the Astros have had MUCH more success.

Thanks for playing dogdad. Yes, the Rangers may have won the boot, but they have a ways to go before they match the success of the lowly Astros.

its 12-9 Astros and they still batting with 2 outs. Rangers will need at least 3 to tied it again

I am a huge homer for Texas teams and the Rangers in particular...

But Blech! The Rangers make a run against some terrible NL teams and now we are all worrying Hicks will feel compelled to take down the "Trades Available" sign.

Oh well, at least my BOSOX are lighting it up... (and the Yanks are not!)
