Depends on your tastes.
If you want some country, may I suggest
Flowers- Cross Canadian Ragweed
Off the Record- Aaron Watson
Highways and Broken Hearts- Eli Young Band
Lonely Feeling- Robert Earl Keen
Or, if you like a nice variety of Oldies- Indie- Folk- Acoustic- Pop, may I suggest these.
First, heres a great acoustic mixtape. These bands allowed thier songs to be on it.
http://liberatedmatter.com/mixtape.html
I can't really think of specific songs, but almost anything by these artists is good:
Joseph Arthur
Rodrigo y Gabriela
tandemoro (tandemoro.com for 3 free EP's. I like bands that gice thier music away for free)
Belle and Sebastian
The Boy Least Likely To
The Payola Reserve
The Lemonheads
Bree Sharp
Cat Power
I doubt you find most of these on your standard downloading application.
Try hypem.com
You can search the indie blogs for thses bands

Hey Jude is overrated and overplayed. There are much better Beatles songs. Like the entire Rubber Soul, Sgt. Peppers, White Album, and Abbey Road albums.

Yep. Green over Pinkerton. I have had all kinds of Weezer fans tell me this is heresy... but they gotta realize: Green is simply chock full of catchy hooks and riffs. Its a great Pop album and I don't try to pretend it is something other than that. One of my favorite songs ever is Smile.

definitely agree with you there, smile is a beautiful/well written song. but the fact that so many musicians/as well as fans will tell you pinkerton is far the best weezer album evar because of the fact that it was an album written way before it's time--well in Cuomo's state of mind, I guess. Then again it's an album that if [you've been there/done that before] it's easy for one to connect with lyrically.
but alas, other good songs to download are ones that are on the rare and unreleased of Weezer's early stuff.
...as for the purpose of this thread I'd suggest some Jeff Buckley
Diocletian
