Ok guys...the first image is a LARGE file size so in order to minimize the stress I put on this website's server I am instead including a link. (File size 2.01 MB)

Expect a long download time. Definetely not recommended for dial-up users.

This image is my first attempt at panoramic photography. The camera has an option where it shows a bit of the last picture you took so you know how to match the next picture. It's not perfect and the lighting definetely threw me off. I used ISO 100 but it's still a little grainy. If I remember correctly, the shutter speed for this was 1/1200 (of a second) and the aperture was F8.0

This next picture is one of my favorites that I took today. I've never done manual photography before this camera, so I was learning all about the different options, and one of the options this camera has is different colors. I also just found out that on the software that came with this camera, I can view the shooting preferences that I used while taking the pictures.

Again, this image is rather large in size (1.12 MB), so I am providing a link to it rather than posting it.

This shot of the Harbor Bridge and USS Lexington was taken with a shutter speed of 1/400, Aperture F8.0, ISO 80, and 12x zoom. In addition, I used a Sepia color filter. Again, I apologize for the "grainy" look...it was quite a hazy morning and even a low ISO of 80 could not fix that.

Please note that I really don't have any good photo editing software so other than minor touchups and stitching panoramas, these photos haven't been edited. This particular one has not even been touched up on the computer.

Dont worry so much about the noise in the picture. I would crank it up to a higher ISO and then use noise reducing software to remove some of it.

I use this:

the community edition (at the bottom) is free.

This was my first manual picture ever. I've adjusted the levels on the computer but other than that there have been no changes to this photo.

I'm looking towards the Corpus downtown from Portland...about 6 miles or so south. Using a 12x zoom with ISO 80, shutter speed 1/400, and aperture F8.0, I snapped this photo. It's not the best photo and I probably would have done better with a larger aperture (I used my camera's auto feature and took some photos that it set the aperture to F4.0 and they look nice) but I'm learning.

I'm going to post this image here. It will take awhile to load at 1.3 MB.

EDIT: It was just too big...here's a link http://webpages.charter.net/nvance07/CorpusManual.jpg

That's a good idea. I'll take a look at that. Thanks.

Ok, I may get a few different shots from around the area later but for right now that's it...I took about 50 photos but the rest are all quite similar...just me trying different features. Hope you enjoyed all of these as much as I enjoyed taking them.
