This initially was scheduled as a three-day mini-camp, and the previous mini-camp under Phillips spread five practices over three days. This time, the Cowboys will have just the four practices over the past two days.
Sunday will be a day for meetings (11 a.m. CDT), and then Phillips is having what is being called a Family Day, where the players will bring their families to The Ranch for a cookout.
"You're not just playing for yourself out there," Phillips said. "I think it's important to have a team and play hard if you know it's part of your family. It's not all X's and O's."
Phillips said his dad, Bum, would hold the same sort of functions while in Houston, and in fact, back in those days, he said Thursdays were chicken and beer Thursdays.
