not bad for Orangefield to stay within 6 of Marlin....that low score is gonna hurt their chances to qualify though....Marlin needs to be play better Hitchcock and LaVilla won't be easy...

i saw where wharton lost to WOS.

how did Wharton do in their other games?

BTW- does each team only get 3 games????

$300 for 3 games is kinda expensive.

A little early to be picking winners...I think Celina is going to be a tough out for anyone in College Station.....also if Royse City qualifies at Tyler they will be a team to be reckoned with also....

I asked one of the kids from the Diboll team who gave them the most trouble and he told me Bandera did, but you wouldnt think so by the score. I hope to make it in College Station!

Celina captures 7-on-7 tournament at MSU
By Times Record News
June 10, 2007

The Celina Bobcats cruised to the title of the 7-on-7 State Qualifying Tournament Saturday at Midwestern State University, picking up four wins and accumulating 148 points.

The top four teams from the MSU qualifier - which was for Class 3A teams and under - advance to the State 7-on-7 Championship July 12-15 in College Station. This is the first year the State 7-on-7 Championships have had the lower classification, and MSU was one of the eight SQT sites for 3A and under teams.

The other qualifying teams are the Graham Steers, the Lindsay Knights and the Melissa Cardinals.

Celina, which is coached by former Southern Methodist great Craig James, advanced through pool play with a 47-13 win over Hico and a 40-33 win over Bridgeport.

The Bobcats then beat Melissa 34-27 in the semifinals. They beat Lindsay 27-6 in the championship game, which was called at half because of the high heat and humidity.

Graham beat Munday 38-8 in its lone pool game as several teams entered in the tournament did not show up. But the Steers saw a 22-18 halftime lead in the semis against Lindsay, turn into a 37-28 defeat.

Melissa won Pool B by scoring the most points as all three teams - Melissa, Valley View and Hirschi - had 1-1 records. Valley View beat Hirschi 6-0, but the Huskies bounced back with a 33-13 win over Melissa. Melissa then beat Valley View 38-14.

Lindsay advanced out of Pool D by beating Electra 46-19 and Pilot Point 50-44.

MSU will host its own 7-on-7 Let it Fly Tournament next Saturday as part of the Bill Maskill Football camp.
