How do you tell if sour cream has gone bad?

It turns green...I had it happen last week...fuzzy stuff and crystalizing on the top...YUCK!!!!!

oh, and you can also smell it as soon as you open the container.

alright...we were just debating because it's "sour" cream and I was like how do you know "sour" cream has gone bad does it smell "sour" and none of us knew

it smells way worse than bad milk when it "sours"

the stuff is cheap...if there is any question at all throw it away and buy some new stuff

Seriously, isn't there an expiration date stamped on it? With dairy products, it's a good idea to obey those.
