Super nice guy. Enjoyed talking about Longhorn baseball and his major league days from the 80's with him.

What most people forget is Schiraldi was the ace of that Texas pitching staff (1983 I believe), not Roger Clemens. Clemens has had the better pro career obviously, but Calvin was the man at UT in his day. Good guy & still giving back in coaching these days. Roger was a juco transfer from San Jac (Wayne Graham) & then moved onto Texas & then the pros.

Schiraldi beat Snyder in the Semis in the 1980 state tournament. Austin Westlake had maybe 3 players off that team that went to the pros. Schiraldi, Kelly Gruber and maybe one other
