In a great defensive football game Team A defeats Team B by a score of 6 to 5. There were not any 3 points scored by a field goal. How did each team score their points?

In a great defense of game the only solution that i can get to your question is that team A scored a TD and fumble the extra point and team b rcovered the fumble and got the one point and team b got 2 safties to get a score of 5.

Team A scores a touchdown and the extra point is ran back by the other team making the score 6 to 1. Team B picks up a two safeties to score their other four points making the final score 6 to 5.

I thought you got 2 points for returning a PAT try? Or is that only for 2 point conversions???? So if you block a PAT kick for one point you only get one point if you return it??

So if you block a PAT kick for one point you only get one point if you return it??You get two points for running back the PAT regardless if the opposing team was attempting a kick or two point conversion. Abilene Cooper won a game two years ago that they should have lost (or at least should've gone into OT) by returning a blocked PAT for two points. The score was tied at the time of the PAT.

That is good information if it is for two points. I wonder what the rules say. Anyway the three that had the answer get credit for answering in the spirit of the question and my apologies if I ruined the question. I really thought it was one point. And thank you both for your observation and for pointing out the error of my thinking.

Sorry Phil, but it's 2 points for a ran-back PAT. I even did it once back in my playin' days :D .
