I wasn't able to make it down to Burnet as I had planned this weekend. I know Burnet didn't qualify but I havent heard how they did. Matthew, were you able to watch any of their games?

I saw bits and pieces of all 3 games...honestly I think it'll be tough for Burnet this year....they didn't look really good in any games..not much size or speed at the skill spots.....they are scrappy and fly around but it didn't translate....they finished 1-2 losing to Belton and Lampasas and beating Copperas Cove who sent a hodgepodge of JV kids and a few varsity kids...the RB for Burnet Nesby looked good...he looks like a short yardage hoss

This is a debate that gets old IMO....teams who are active and do well in 7 on 7 normally do well in the real stuff...not always but the law of averages says that...

I have 2 perfect examples of teams who were perennial doormats but used 7 on 7 to propel them to great seasons in 2006 and thats West Mesquite and Arlington Bowie...

It does really depend on the team though. I wouldn't think LH does that great in 7 on 7. But I know we have been through this before ;)

Hey, I think we were pretty even in the wins/losses last year. :p

Its all about what you put into 7 on 7 as you said...even running teams benefit big time from 7 on 7...look at Plano and Celina....

Actually Liberty Hill plays 7 on 7 against Leander in local league play and from what I understand they fare well...

In most cases good 7 on 7 teams are good 11 on 11 teams...
