Hmmmmmm, lets see, Sinton should be about 7-3 in their previous 6 tournament appearances. :D

as long as Wylie makes the finals...then I'll be happy. They need to finally win for once at the state tourney.

Not sure about the other 3 teams, but I had the chance to see Sinton play,It will take a great team to knock them off.

GOOD LUCK SOUTH TX. Sinton is sending a young team again, they will have to limited the mental errors to get by Liberty Eylau and their flamethrower.:)

Texarkana Liberty Eylau plays Sinton at 4 (they are listed first on the UIL web site). Wylie plays Jasper in the other semifinal.

To be completely honest with you I think the team that doesn't make errors and plays good solid baseball will have no problem with Jasper. Jasper only had 7 earned runs out of 16 total runs against BC. BC game them the series.

i'll take the winner out of the Sinton/TLE matchup...i picked TLE to win it all though...

Jasper was generally picked third or worse in district. The Dogs are just happy to be in the state tourny!. :) But, beware the underDOG! :D Go Dogs!

In the "old" 3a, before 5a it used to be South San Antonio. Seems like they won state at least 7 times out of 10 years.

They probably could not play a good game of football though. :D

Who-dun-it!!?

Wylie is good, but Libery is better and will win a second straight title.

I wonder if TLE will pitch Middlebrooks in the semis or finals?

They pitched him in the semis last year with the same 1-2 rotation of Middlebrooks and Fowler. Fowler pitched in the championship game.

The majority of the teams pitch their ace in the semis. It would be hard to explain why you went to the state tournament and your ace pitcher never saw any mound time.

Exactly! It is a tall order, but that's why you play the game. Plus, I don't think Sinton wants to share the honor of being the only 3A team to win back-to-back championships. :D ;)

At this point, it's anybody's championship to win. LE proved that last year. Good luck to all 4 3A teams! To be the best, you have to beat the best.

That's for sure. I think I picked L-E to get beat four different times in the playoffs, including the State semi and championship games!!!!

I can assure you, back to backs are extremely rare. There is one and only one 3A team that has ever done it.

Well, La Grange faced Llano in the 2004 semis and pitched their #2 Jacob Kozelsky (sp) and won on the 10 run rule leaving Homer Bailey for the final against a formidable Forney team to win state. Gutsy call by Coach Ferguson but it paid off.
