The Ducks have really surprised me with the way they've been able to hold the Senators top scoring line of Alfredsson, Spezza, and Heatley in check. JS Giguere has been very good in the pipes. It looks like the last team to win a Cup from Canada will remain back in 1993.

I think it's funny that because ESPN hyper-covers UFC, it gets more attention than hockey. If it were the other way around, we'd still be talking about hockey like it was important.

I guess that's the nature of the beast.

I think there are two reasons for this:

1. It's Anaheim and Ottowa. If it's Detroit-New York, suddenly hockey is saved and everybody's talking about it.

2. ESPN was burned by the lockout because they held TV rights. ESPN pulled out of the NHL's television package, leaving the NHL to scramble to Versus. I'd say that ESPN and the NHL probably have a mutual distaste for each other right now.
