SOFTBALL: State Tourney

REGION I REP: BURKBURNETT (34-4-1)

REGION II REP: WEST (28-5)

REGION III REP: HUNTINGTON (31-2-1)

REGION IV REP: MEDINA VALLEY (33-11)

Seeding determined tomorrow or Monday. I think it'll be worst record (Medina Valley) vs. best record (Huntington) - I THINK. Looking like Huntington & Burkburnett are the two top seeds based on records. According to UIL web site they will be the home team.

UIL takes the best two records and puts them in opposite brackets and then flips a coin between the two that are left to fill the bracket. (EDIT 10:00am 5/28 -- I've already heard that this is probably wrong, but as of now I haven't found the pairings.) NOPE!! I WAS RIGHT!!

So it could end up one of two ways:
BURKBURNETT (34-4-1) vs. WEST (28-5) FRIDAY 8:30am
HUNTINGTON (31-2-1) vs. MEDINA VALLEY (33-11) THURSDAY 7:30

or

BURKBURNETT (34-4-1) vs. MEDINA VALLEY (33-11)
HUNTINGTON (31-2-1) vs. WEST (28-5)

Huntington and Burkburnett with the best 2 records.

This is assuming the records posted are correct. Coaches have to turn in their records based on elimiating the pool games (4 innings) from tournaments on their records, so sometimes the records from the paper and the records actually submitted differ a little

GOOD LUCK!!!! Kinda hard to bet against Huntington - a team that has only given up ONE run in the playoffs!!! :eek: :eek: wow!

8:30 am is tough but I'll bet these teams have travel ball players that are plenty used to playing early!

I know they are usually at school by that time & they are young and excited to be playing for a shot at state - i'm sure they'll be fine!! ;)

I'm in OKC and I received text message that Medina Valley defeated Burkburnett 7-2 in the state championship.

Medina Valley must not have been reading or listening to everyone who say Region 4 is so "weak". Congrat's to CMV on bringing the 3A State Championship to your school and Region 4!

I just noticed that Boerne (spelling?) won it in 4A so Region 4 got at least two of them!
