UIL Makes Surprise Ruling

May 26, 2007

{Rutgers News Service - Austin, Texas}

In a surprise ruling, the UIL voted unanimously to allow both G. J. Kinne and Gilbert Moye an additional year of eligibility to play high school football and to allow both to complete their final season in Celina. The panel, composed of various UIL employees said they were trying to right the wrong they had previously assessed in not allowing Moye to play his junior season at Diboll. Of Kinne, the panel said that it was only fair he be allowed one last chance to compete for a state championship. Dr. Charles Breithaupt could not be reached for comment, but was overheard as saying that he didn't think either had a legitimate shot at a ring, but that it was the right thing to do.

When was the last time Celina had a bona fide top 100 recruit?

obviously there is something more to the bobcats than celebrated move-ins

Mostly tradition. Plus you play in the same system from pee-wee up. Your parents probably disown you if you don't wanna play. :)

They won't ever win in 3a though, they will have to pull a HP and stay 2a:D

They won the Sliderule Championship

Im as far from being a Celina fan as anyone but you have to give them credit for what they've done. They were in the State Title game in their first 4 years of being in Class 3A. That is an amazing feat. The thing that is wrong with many football fans now is they think their team has to win the title for it to be a successful season.

Has Forney ever won a title in a team sport?

I think Celina had 15 state titles in 2a and one in 3a so far. If I count them up correctly. And one in 1a.

I thought they won one in baseball. Could be wrong, though.
