After 27 years of teaching calculus, pre-calculus, biology, chemistry, computer science, TAKS remediation, and whatever the heck else they couldn't find anybody to teach, my spousal unit was named Teacher of the Year for the 2006 - 2007 school year. (And it's about damn time)

I think that came from Coneheads, but I don't remember for sure. The shcool board member that was handing out the awards said both his sons had told him that they would not have made it to where they are without her pushing them to excel. She was bawling like a baby.

What is also great Tiger is that this recognition happened so early in her teaching career. :)

A few years ago, she got an award from Baylor's college of education because one of her students graduated valedictorian and listed her as the inspiration for becoming a teacher. We got to go to a banquet in Waco and she got a nice plaque.
