This may not go any farther but it may be a good beginning.

this doesn't really impact the Fat Cats...it just keeps those with the local gas stations from putting too much of a premium on top of what they already paid for the gas. That way you won't see $3 at one station and $3.25 two blocks over.

Do people not realize the scale of world demand on the limited supply of petroleum products? China and India, the two most populous countries in the world are also the fastest growing consumer nations. They are grabbing their share and it is driving the world prices. Eco 101 plain and simple. We need to drill everywhere there is a proven reserve of oil and develop them fully. We need to build refineries to turn it into fuel. By cutting our dependence on unstable foreign sources, we will be getting closer to energy independence. Combine that with developing alternate sources of fuel and we are on the way.

Drill and build, baby. Drill and build!!!

Alternative fuel sources never hurt either.

The U.S. and their environmental laws is what is keeping the building of refineries down. Just the crap they deal with for the ones that are already running is unreal. Alternitive fuel sources are a good thing.

There is already a reason for that. Competition. They quit having full service fuel stores only years ago because they were not making money on Gas. If they were you would still see it. What they do now is make a buck or 2 for every cup of coffee and candybar you scarfdown while paying for the gas. The law got passed because it is basically unenforceable and is probably unconstitutional to boot. But it makes the politicians look good while they really did nothing and most of them know that they have done nothing. Market conditions. YOu choose where you buy gas. If one guy is too high find another.
