WE NEED TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!!

The golf talk on this board has definitely grown this year. I think it might be fun to put together teams from DFW, Houston, West Texas, Cen Texas and South Texas and everybody get together around Waco/Austin area one Saturday for a tournament. :)

Though it might be kind of quick...I wonder if either the weekend of June 22/23 would work for most? The other options would be July 13/14, July 20/21, or July 27/28.

I say we get "team captains" for each region and then you work on getting your 4 person (or 5 if the course will allow) team together and we can go from there.

Any suggestions on courses? Anybody have any good connections?

Well, if your golf cart has to plunge off of a gigantic cliff with you
in it, we suppose it might as well be in Fallbrook, Calif.

A 65-year-old golfer died Tuesday after his golf cart plunged 75 feet off a cliff and
crashed into a road below, authorities said. The man teed off with three friends on
the second hole of the Pala Mesa Resort Golf Course in northern San Diego County
at around 10 a.m. and then got into his cart. The vehicle veered off the concrete pathway,
traveled down a 25-foot embankment and went over the edge of a cliff,
California Highway Patrol spokesman Tom Kerns said.

I would play any of the above weekends but June 22/23. Luling Watermelon Thump is going on that weekend, so I gotta return to the hometown.

I put in a vote for July 21st. Really I should be able to do any of the days in July but that weekend I don't have any RoughRiders games on Friday night so that would let me get to Austin earlier.

I voted for June 23rd. I have already committed to play other tournaments on the 14th, 21st, and 28th weekends.

I suggest narrowing down the location based on where the commitments are from. Austin is a great choice, really couldn't go wrong there.

I am willing on either of the last 2 weekends in July.

As part of team Centex.

Or Giddings if we get enough players.

Hey my daughter probably has a better handicap than you. She plays the mens tees and hits the ball 250. When she was in school her handicap was 7 from the men's tees. I know she works for a living now so I magine she has lost a little.

Whats all this talk about handicaps? I say if we are in we PM Adidas with our verifiable handicaps, location, and dates we can play and then let him divide the teams accordingly. There aint no need to stack one against the others either.Distribute A, B, C & D players accordingly.

What do we say?

I like that idea. I'll have them delete this thread and sticky a new thread where people can post that information. It will make it easier to manage instead of running the risk of my PM box filling up. I won't be around as much for the next few days so having the info in a thread will be easier to keep track of.
