Horry has far and away made the biggest one-time contribution to any of the playoff teams.

The guy who will wind up getting the MVP once the Finals are done plays for the Pistons though.

well lebron is not "small", he has a ridiculous verticle, when he really REALLY wants to he can take control of the game...Duncan just gets the ball turns around and shoots.... i really hope that they play each other in the finals and Lebron slams on duncan

Dan, calling Duncan the best player in the NBA today isn't being a homer. Not by any stretch of the imagination.

Here's (http://www.nba.com/preview2005/gmsurvey_players.html) a survey done before last season. They polled the league's general managers (the guys at the top of the totem pole when it comes to player evaluations) about this stuff. Look at whose name tops the list of most of these categories. He even got a few votes as the second-best center in the league (16% of the league's GM's) even though he swept the debate over best PF (78% of the GM's compared to KG's 12%).

True statement. Take him away and you've got a 15 win ballclub. They'd look much like the Lakers will look when Kobe opts out of his contract.

Luckily for the spurs, Lebron won't be able to make a free throw with 2 seconds left after not getting touched

Tim Duncan, because he gets it done on both ends of the court. Great in the paint, draws in defenders, and kicks out with perfect passes to wide open shooters. And he has no equal, for a big man on D end of the court. This is a no brainer!
Lebron has all the tools to get there in another year or two though, and I believe he will.

you are pointing out the things that make Duncan a good player...but he is not the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER to his team by any means

MVP does NOT equal 'best in the league' or 'leader of the best team'

by the way...hows the fam doing Stang Red????

If Marshall makes that everyone is saying what a great play and pass that was. In time he will take that shot. He is such an unselfish player that he is going to pass to the open man period. Oh yeah I remember a guy named Paxson banging home a three to beat Phoenix in 93. Who kicked the ball out to him? Ill give you three guesses and the first two dont count.

But, an MVP brings it every night, and 10 points just doesn't cut it.

Some people sure are sensitive... Not all that sensitive. Just tired of the whining, not you, the players. And yes, I am a BIG Spurs fan, but I am tired of Duncan and Ginobili disputing every foul called on them. You can do it sometimes, but every once in a while, you do foul.

ok MVP stands for most valuable player, not most valuable player to your team, most valuable player...there has been debate over what that means by loads of people, I once read an article in ESPN about it...take away Duncan you take away 3 championships from San Antonio. We would be good without him, but nothing near what we are. We would just get dominated inside every night.

Spurs can be up-tempo when they need to...just ask the Suns. Manu and Parker can run with the best of them. We just prefer to play solid D and play an inside-out game.
