Uhm, it's hosted in Corpus, so go figure. Sinton has two, Chris Goetzel and Ryan Ukert (sp).

Ray, Miller, G-P, and Moody are on the East Squad. Carroll, King, Flour Bluff, and Calallen are on the West squad. Calallen has six, Carroll has three.

yes that's him - Gobbler Grad said 3 ex Gobblers - so I assume it's Karl and Jason - both on staff with AAA87 @ Skidmore-Tynan - is that right Tim?

From the story in the Beeville paper this week, the East had never won before. I could be totally wrong though.

QB from Refugio threw the ball real well Their were several Jr. College's at the game. Some talk to several kids on the East team after the game.

Arroyo to coach East squad at Coastal Bend All-Star Shriner Classic

By MILES BLANKENSHIP
Bee-Picayune staff - posted May 19 -

Sometimes one hard hit is all it takes.
Skidmore-Tynan head football coach Adam Arroyo, who will coach the East All-Stars in the Coastal Bend All-Star Shriner Classic in Corpus Christi today (Saturday), said his team came together after two players collided in the backfield during a recent practice.
“We were practicing in shorts, helmets and shoulder pads, and Aaron Herrera came through the line and just de-cleated Patrick Bell from Cuero with a hit,” Arroyo said. “Bell jumped up smiling and said, ‘So it’s going to be like that, huh?’ and that broke all the tension for the team.”
Arroyo also said he’s enjoying the opportunity to coach the same players he’s competed against at Skidmore-Tynan.
“We’re just having fun,” he said. “I look at this team and I wonder how far deep we’d go in the playoffs with a squad like this. This team has speed, size, everything you could want. And, all of the kids have been great. Every player here has been a ‘yes,sir-no, sir’ kind of kid, so we’ve had no problems. At our first practice, I told them we’re gonna hit hard and have fun.”
The East roster contains familiar names to Bee County football fans, including Beeville’s Herrera, Justin King and Jaren Shears, along with Skidmore-Tynan’s Garrett Vandever, John Boscamp, Travis Berthold, Ben Mengers and David Barrientes. Ronnie Beck from Pettus was also selected to the team, but will not participate because of the Eagle baseball team’s playoff run.
Arroyo said the team will alternate players on each series, allowing everyone on the team to get equal playing time in the game.
The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. tonight (Saturday) in Corpus Christi at Buc Stadium. Tickets cost $5 per person, with all of the money going to benefit the Al Amin Shriners (see related story on today’s front page). The East squad will the visiting team in the contest, which dates back to 1996. In 11 games, the East squad has never been able to come away with a victory over the West All-Stars.
Regardless of the outcome, Arroyo said he hopes all of the players will take advantage of playing in a game like the All-Star Classic.
“I know there will be at least four schools there looking for players,” he said. “Some of these guys might be able to play in a game like this and really get something out of it.”
