The most impressive one came a couple of decades before that. It was voted by the media back in 97 or 98 as the greatest performance ever in the history of the state track meet. I'll post it later.

When the Abilene High 4x400 relay team...lead by future Olympian Jonathan Johnson...came from 80+ meters back to win. I'll see if I can find the article and exact info...

What about that girl from Luling, Ychlindia Spears? I believe she won State in about every event she was in from her Freshman to Senior Year!!!

that was an exciting race. Someone has video of it online. I will try and track it down.

Frank Pollard of Meridian back in the mid 70's. First in the 100, 200, Shot Put and Discus. Second in the 4x100.

Odd combination of events. Went on to play at Baylor and the Pittsburg Steelers.

Oh yeah, Johnny Jones was about 50 to 60 meters behind. The distance gets greater the more time passes.
