Yes, all of Region IV are district champions. No #2 or #3 seeds left in that region

did Sanger and Canyon have to get a waiver from the UIL to complete their series after the scheduled date. Arent they given a certain time frame to have the games played?

Rain (Bad Weather) Policy for Baseball Playoffs
Teams may not play after the deadline for determining a district representative unless the following conditions are
met:
• Every effort must be made by both teams to determine the winner before the deadline.
• If weather conditions make this impossible, notification must be given to the UIL and potential next round
opponents (or opponent). Example: District 1 winner and 2 runnerup find they cannot get their playoff decided
by the deadline. They must notify the District 3 winner and District 4 runnerup representatives and the UIL that
they will extend the deadline.
• Extreme scheduling difficulties such as those mentioned above could result in a coin flip determining the
representative to the next round.
• Every effort must be made to get the representative decided on time. This includes obtaining neutral sites
and scrambling for any available field. This could mean giving up a home field advantage if another field is
playable.
A team ending a playoff round on Monday or Tuesday cannot be forced to play on the day following their deciding
game. A team completing a playoff round on Saturday (either a single elimination or two-out-of-three) cannot be
required to flip for a playoff date prior to Wednesday. think this apllies to playoff rounds also.

Abilene area is calling for more rain next week. I woudl assume a Wylie/Canyon matchup would mean a Lubbock nuetral site and a Sanger win would put the series or game in Graham? Where is Sanger? I am not even sure.

Sanger is about 5-10 miles north of Denton

Does anyone know where / when Whitesboro and Celina play??

Canyon/Sanger called on Saturday to see if they could play at Snyder, but there was three games on tap and it would have been 10:00 PM before they could have started. They tried to find a field in Abilene but never found a dry one.

Snyder vs. Lubbock Cooper ought to be a very good series.

My prediction for Region I semis:

Snyder vs. Decatur
Abilene Wylie vs. Andrews

I don't know if they tried Lubbock or not. Maybe some Canyon posters can answer that one.

I wonder if Sanger refused to play in Lubbock...or if Canyon refused to go to Abilene...

they were already scheduled for HSU but it rained all afternoon. Would have been a long drive home for Sanger.

Canyon vs Wylie Should Be A Good Matchup, It Will Be Determined By The Depth Of The Bullpen, Both Teams Can Crush The Ball On Any Given Day.

There was a good story on KTXS News wed night about Wylies bullpen being 4 deep and fairly strong. There isnt a dominate pitcher in the stable IMO but 4 kids with 4 different styles that can get the job done. I think the Wylie/Canyon series should be a great one.

Our theme for football is "Finish" for next year. I think these boys playing baseball are listening. They finish great, but there is no need to get down 3-0 before coming back to snatch the win 4-3 in both games.:evillol: Somebody is gonna have a heart attack boys!

My what a game they both were.   I think we need to mix a little "Start" in with "Finish".:D

Ain't that the truth. When we last won the state title in baseball we were behind and had to claw our way out in the title games. I would much rather blow them out.

Yep, they have changed my schedule about a dozen times and then some. On top of that my "I know what I am doing"
oldest daughter moved back in for a long stretch and I have been backlogged with other things to do. I hope to go to at least one of the games next week.

9 matchups went to a third game. 8 of the teams who won the first game lost the last two. Interesting!
