Saw it last night. Though I usually take my 6 year old to see everything, no matter the rating, on the advice of someone who's opinion I value, we left at Grandma's for this one.

Well....wow. Brutal. Senseless. At most times disturbing violence. We went and saw this flick even though we turned off the first one because it sucked so badly. I don't really think seeing the first one is a requirement because you are pretty much filled in. Zombies = kill people = zombies die of starvation due to quarantine = people rebuild = today = zombies find a way to come back.

Are they actually zombies though? It's called the "Rage Virus" and though they eat people who get infected....did they originally rise from the long dead in the first flick? Kinda reminds me more of the "Hate Plague" from the old Transformers where they all turned red and tried to kill the uninfected lol. Anyway...the opening scene is quite intense and you get two pretty decent scares right away. You have the typical "Stop being so ******** stupid!" characters who you wish death on for their stupidity, the very agile for being undead zombies, and a VERY cool scene involving a helicoptor. The guy that plays "Michael" in LOST is also a lead character so that was a welcome suprise. Lots of blood, LOADS of violence & brutality, no moral (that i could see) and only two sets of boobies (one of which may be questionable). Oh and plenty of f bombs. (edited for content)

I don't think it'll come close to Spiderman as we went to a 9:40 showing on a Saturday and the theater wasn't even 40% full. Maybe 2nd but Disturbia was still pulling in people as well.

Oh yeah, Happy Mothers Day to all y'all Mothers on the board. Even though I've been calleda "Mother" before, there's usually a non flattering word that follows it. :D

They are not zombies, just people infected with the rage virus.

well the infected were destroyed by Spiderman.....

Spiderman 3 is tied for 2nd place as far as fastest to ever get to $200 million. Should be interesting to see how it does against Shrek. Shrek will be sold out I'm sure so will all those people who turn away just turn to Spiderman???....

My wife and I are really looking forward to seeing this movie. We watched the first one and didn't like it the first time because we were expecting a more of "zombie" movie. However, after watching it a second time, we found it to be a very good horror movie and it has grown to be one of our favorites. We've pretty much read nothing but good reviews so far.

I love both the video game and movie seris of Resident Evil. Resident Evil: Extinction come out in September and I really want to check that one out.

The previews for Day of the Dead are a joke. I was excited to hear about the remake after the success of the Dawn of the Dead remake, but after seeing that worthless preview I'm not even sure I'd want to rent the damn thing.
