The Copperas Cove hurdler was impressive as well as the 22-something for the girl in the 200 in 4A. The 5A 4x200 was impressive though the event hasnt been run for that long, a broken record is still cool to see. Other than that, thats about it. Nobody else really caught my attention.

The Parson kid from San Antonio Stevens will be one in the next couple years to watch....he won the 100 meters in 5A with the fastest time at this years meet with a 10.37. The only thing that makes that real impressive is the fact that hes a sophomore.

Did anyone notice that during the 3A shot put on Saturday morning

A 3A girls discus event was being held.

A throw went over the top of the netting and almost took out some photographers

Fortunately a official yelled heads up and the discus fell in between about 6 guy taking pics

She couldn't have tried to make a wild throw like that again .

I think it went over sideways over the net.

Woke everyone up after that and made everyone pay attention

There are usually multiple long distance records broken. There is usually a big time sprinter that shows out at the state meet. 10.37 was the fastest this year. There are usually multiple 20.'s in the 200. Just overall it wasnt a fast meet. Were there some good performances? Of course there was. But it wasnt a fast meet overall in my opinion.

I guess when you;ve seen the Blantons run a 20.79 as a sophomore and a 20.37 as a junior and you see Edorian McCullough burn up the track and Jeremy Wariner do his amazing stuff it can only go down. There were no Blanton's. Mccullough's or Wariners at this years meet. I think the most impressive was the girl from Killeen and the Hurdler from Copperas Cove. They were amazing.
