Report: Dirk will be named MVP

The first regular-season honor came Thursday for Dirk Nowitzki, but the big payday should come next week. ESPN.com reported Thursday evening that Nowitzki, named to the all-NBA first team, also will be named league MVP. Numerous polls of the media panel that votes on the MVP, including one by The Dallas Morning News, indicate Nowitzki is the clear frontrunner.

it happened to Moses Malone twice. Names MVP and ousted 1st round. I wouldnt mind being put on the same list as Moses Malone

people are gunna argue it because of his first round performance... but when you see his numbers in that first round, and the way his team was beat, you'll understand just how valuable he was...

Dirk deserves this award for his regular season play and the great success of his team. In the playoffs, the Warriors limited him to 19.7 points per game on 38 percent shooting. His 3-point accuracy plummeted to 21 percent. In the series finale, Nowitzki scored just eight points on 2-of-13 shooting.
