Lexington beat Weimar 3-2. Very good softball game. Lexington threw out baserunner at plate. Only had 5 hits but three along with walk in big two run inning to give them the lead. Both teams outfielders made some good plays to take hits away.
They play tonite in Lexington.

Murphy started for Bellville. Luetge came on in 5th and allowed no runs.
Krause started for Giddings, Weise replaced in 1st and allowed no runs.

I would have felt Luetge would have gotten start after how well she did against Bridge City, but I wasn't at practice this week. Maybe Luetge's arm was a little tired after pitching 20 innings last friday and saturday, Maybe ball didn't have as much zip or movement and coach thought best to start Murphy. I don't know. Both are talented and hard working.

Giddings does good job at plate. They've gotten more quality at bats against both Bellville pitchers than any other team I've seen this year. Giddings outhit Bellville only 10-8, but did better job of stringing hits together.
Not sure why Giddings coach didn't start Weise. IMO she's Giddings' best pitcher.

Luetge started the game tonight for Bellville. I will update

Giddings made way to many errors in this game to have a chance to win....congrats to bellville for puttin the ball in play and making us field....all we could seem to do was pop up to the pitcher or short stop

I still think it is a shame that one of these teams will be out after today, both teams are good enought to make the final 4, or even win it all. Maybe since we are from the same district, we could put both teams together after tonight?:D
