My daugher is terrified of them.....almost to the point of "wiggin out" when there is lots of thunder.

Awwwww.......she doesn't stand up, she is usually huddled underneath her blanket at that point.

I really feel kind of bad though...when the kids were little we had a bad storm and her ball (the ones that have a handle that you hold on to and bounce around..forgot what they are called) went blowing down the road.

I took off after it and acted like the wind was so strong that I couldn't get back...I was too far from the house to realize that all the kids were crying and screaming in fear...they thought I was really in danger. She has NEVER forgotten that!!

I'm a bad mommy!!:( :(

OMG That is FUNNY!!! Sounds like something I would do. :D I guess that would scar a child though, so "bad mommy!" ;)
