Sanger/Canyon and Perryton/Decatur are two good matchups in Region I.
Those two series are toss ups in my opinion.

Easiest to predict... Region I, probably Burk over Bowie.
Wylie shouldn't have a problem with IP either.

No doubt. Think about the gas bill on that drive for the old yellow bus.

And that's no offense to the Hawks... I just think Wylie is that good. Dusty Ross, Lytle, Smoak, those IP kids can play. After Ross though, I don't see a dominant pitcher for IP. Lytle can throw too, but I just think Wylie will be too overpowering at the plate.
Wylie should win 2-0 and advance.

I can't argue with you. Wylie is loaded up. IP is solid but can consider this to be a down year. Just like you said there doesn't appear to be another pitcher behind Ross on this team. IP's strength year in and year out is on the mound. This team just doesn't have that depth.

I'm hearing good things about Decatur. They went 10-0 in district and are on a 15-game win streak. Their record is 19-8 but they have not lost to a 3A school yet. All their losses are to 4A, 5A, and private schools.

Losing 6 seniors last year, I did not think Decatur would be as good this year. Some are saying this year's team is better than last year's team that lost to Wylie in 3 games in the regional finals.

We'll see!!

Their ace is back, Oates, for his senior year. Decatur has a program on the rise. Their close proximity to D/FW is drawing more families to Decatur, which in turn feeds more kids to the Decatur ISD.
They have another kid that can throw pretty good too, think his last name is Cangley.
I know Perryton has a good program, and will give Decatur everything they can handle. Tough matchup to predict.

I have a friend that works in Decatur but lives in Justin. A few of the companies in Decatur are hiring people from Dallas and Houston that are looking for a change and that in turn is bringing in more big city kids/families to Wise County.

Another factor that some of the areas around D/FW get is the kid that might transfer from (5A) Justin Northwest, (4A) Saginaw Boswell, (4A) Azle, or any of the Keller schools.
These schools are all within 30 to 40 miles of Decatur.
Not saying that it happens at Decatur, but I saw it happen last year where a guy moves (because his job doesn't care where he lives) into a smaller school so his kid doesn't have to compete with the 180 kids going out for football soph-senior. Or 78 kids going out for the baseball program.

Bandera loses to Devine...it hurts me to say this. Our ace Lutz played so good, we had some stupid errors and just couldnt hit at home...and then we went there today and lost. Im not sure of the score...I just know we are done. We had some problems getting it done this year at times...and this was an example. We beat this same team 9-2 or something during the regular season. We just didnt show up like we can...Good job anyway boys, you had a great season.
