It will depend on the numbers that the UIL decides on. My guess is that if Celina turns in 377 the new cut-off will be 375. I kinda agree with Jacket, I don't think the UIL is going to let Celina back into 2A :p

I think any school under 450 has a great chance to go AA. I think the cutoff at the top of AAA will be in the 950 area.

I'd bet Newton and Woodville from 20-3A will move down.

marlin has 412 students this yr. the senior class has 109 students. with the loss of 109 students and a new small freshman class marlin could drop down into a 2a

They count. I know that Newton is hoping you guys stay 3A and they move down to 2A.

Last time around Lyford turned in ~450...who knows what they have this time around and if they'll stay in 32-3A or drop like Santa Rosa did last alignment. If Lyford leaves 32-3A would be a 6 team district.

What worries me is that 31-3A has 4 schools under 450 if hypothetically that is to be the new cut off. Leaving 31-3A with a 2 team district...could they move those two teams into district 32-3A. I know the travel would be crazy but they did it to Harlingen and CC a few years back. Those two districts combined would look like this:

32-3A
Hidalgo
La Feria
Raymondville
Port Isabel
Rio Hondo
Progreso
Zapata
Falfurrias

Rumors are that Kermit and Denver City have a good chance of going down to AA. I also have heard that Crane could be moving back to AAA. Wouldn't see how that is possible if they raise the number.

I don't know the enrollment for FW Diamond Hill-Jarvis, but they had a small team, only 4 cheerleaders, maybe 15 in the band, and no more than 100 people in the stands (on Parent's night!). If they have a big enough enrollment, they sure don't have much support!

Actually, they do not count the seniors. They count grades 9-11 and plug that into a formula. I'm not sure of the formula they use. It could be as simple as totaling grades 9-11, dividing by 3, and then multiplying by 4, or it could factor in the natural attrition that takes place between the junior and senior years. But seniors and 8th graders are not counted for redistricting purposes.
