has anyone used the Nike + iPod Sport Kit

if so, how does it work for you? is it worth the extra investment? the system is only 30 bucks, but the "special" shoes run about an additional 80 bucks.

I read somewhere, you could go on ebay and buy this little strap and attach it to the shoes you have already without buying the additional nike plus shoes..
