The radar looks like the intensity has decreased as it has gotten into Midland. Maybe you'll just get heavy rain.

Milam County got hammered yesterday. See below for the worst:

CAMERON MAN KILLED BY LIGHTENING

(CAMERON) A 23 year old Cameron man was struck and killed by lightening Tuesday evening while fishing in a private stock tank. Ronald Jake Ingram was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Chip Dunsmoor. Transported by AMR EMS to Scott & White Hospital with undetermined injuries was Jesse McGary of Buckholts. Uninjured was a 3rd fisherman, Gilbert Vargas Jr. of Cameron.

According to investigating Officer Kris Stringer, police responded around 5:50 to a 911 call in reference to people struck by lightening near the address of 305 Harvard Street. Stringer said three people were fishing on the private pond at the end of Harvard Street near Ledbetter Park when a severe thunderstorm blew in. After deciding to leave because of the weather, Ingram and McGary began reeling in the fishing lines while Vargas was sitting in the truck that was parked near the stock tank. Apparantly the two fishing lines were tangled together and one of the victims was cutting the line with a knife when lightening struck Ingram.

Two ambulance units and the Cameron Volunteer Fire Department responded along with the Milam County Sheriff's Department and Cameron Police.

Dang....downtown is flooded right now. Chad said he just got attacked by a floating construction barrel.

They are tearing down a building downtown and have roads blocked off with barrels and cones everywhere...he said they are just floating around right now.....water is up the bottom of the doors where he is driving right now!

you arent kidding. I hate seeing the people on the news that drive right through the high water like nothing can happen to them!! KNow what I mean?

Funk-d-fied
05-02-2007, 11:19 AM
I mean most important s himself, running water is not forgiving, and the vehicle could really be damaged with water in the motor or the exhaust, could end up costing you alot of $$$.

His g/f called him and her bedroom is flooding...so he took off while there was a break in the rain!

The truck is pretty high off the ground and he was only driving 10 or 12 blocks away.

He got there safe and sound...so no biggie!!

He stayed here until I gave him permission to leave!!

Well.......all the Midland rain water run-off goes to a water station that is on my route home. It usually doesn't hit there until a couple of hours after a big rain. Water is running across the road that I have to go down to get home though....IF I go that way!!

Yes.....it's stopped raining and I don't take either of those roads home!!

Where the road is closed at......I-20 is the overpass going over FM 307, which is where I live!

Neither the loop or I-20 go to Greenwood!

The Loop dead ends at either I-20 or Hwy 80.

Now....you can make a few turns off of Hwy 80 and get to Greenwood.

Although....there IS a Greenwood exit from I-20 these days...only, that is exactly where I said that the road is closed at!!:D

I heard!!! I don't know how much rain Midland got, we got an inch and half here in Greenwood, our problem right now is we get all the runoff from town that crosses right over the road into Greenwood!
