man this is kind of funny...Bandera gets Luling, and then Devine...and we have beaten Devine a couple of times this year pretty bad...looking pretty good from where we are sitting.

just curious...but why are the Gonzo/Mathis & Zapa/Port I games a series, and the Ingleside/Cuero a single game? I haven't followed all year, so not sure what is what, but that struck me as strange.

I believe the coaches for the two teams work out those details when they find out who they're matched up with that week.

Well, sometimes you just don't have the depth on the mound to go a series, so you roll the dice and go for ace vs. ace. Sometimes it pays off & sometimes it doesn't. Happened to Fal, if I remember correctly a few years ago. :thinking:

Cuero coach wanted a 3-game series, but Ingleside did won the the toss and chose a 1 game series...guess not a lot of depth on the mound...:thinking:not really sure

That's exactly why you do it. My senior year we ran into Iowa Park in the Regional Finals. They had 1 stud pitcher (Chase Wright who was drafted in between the 1st and 2nd rounds by the Yankees a few weeks later) while we had 2 or 3 good but not great pitchers. They won the toss...chose a 1 game playoff and beat us in extra innings. :(
