I've been there all week. I caddied in the pro-am on Wednesday and was there yesterday. I'll be back on Saturday and Sunday as well. I've never seen greens as bad as those that are on the TPC course...EVER!!! :(

I just turned it on and I can't believe how the greens look! I'm no golfer, but that is embarrassing! No wonder the big names aren't here and some have speculated the Nelson may die if it is relocated.

They still play at Las Colinas, right?

yeah...they use the TPC course and Cottonwood Valley for the 1st two rounds before moving to only TPC on Saturday/Sunday. The course is closing May 10th for a major renovation. From talking to some tour players/caddies this week, the consensus has been that these are the worst greens in PGA Tour history. Some went as far as to say, "You can expect to see some fines next week for players that go off in the media about the course."

I just saw one of the greens on TV. What are those brown patches? That doesn't even look playable.

the brown patches are from the bent grass greens being at the end of their lifespan. Additionally, moving the tourney back 2 weeks made it even harder on the maintenance crew to get the course in playable shape. After the pro-am Wednesday, they cut the greens even shorter and rolled them thoroughly so as to smooth them out as much as possible. It's still really bad though... :(

That's a pic of the #4 green...and it wasn't even the worst. #'s 5 and 16 put that to shame.
