It is Coach Jason Herring who has been in Sonora for the past several years. It must be the money because no way anyone would want to move from Sonora to Refugio.

Yes and he was the coach. They have won several in Class A. He had great success there.

They won state in 2000, made it to the semi's the next year. He was there 7 years and did a very good job. Refugio is supposed to be really good, correct? State title type good?

They've won 3 I believe but none since 1982. Refugio that is.:) Don't know much about them this year...aside from the new coach.

I think Refugio tied for it in 1982 and outright in 1986 (I think) when Coach Harris son went there his senior year.

1982 was when Harris & son won it. They beat Littlefield 22-21 in the finals.

Yes. They've always had state title-type talent, always will.

IMO one of two most talented Corpus-area high schools, year-in, year-out, when it comes to football (along with Aransas Pass).
