Late start this morning...

but caught three keeper reds this morning... 26 1/2, 26 and my 23, 15 and my buddy's hardhead, which is now hardhead-dead unless the tide came in just in time...

When we used to go to the coast as a kid, I remember catching the hell out of those hard heads. We used to cut their gut and throw them back in the water. Wasted a lot of bait money on those fish.

my grandfather used to slam 'em up against the ground or something a few times while they were still on the hook... I always just throw 'em back because I'm harmless, but oh well...

that's the thing that sucks about our fishin' holes in the spring and summer, the trash-fish are following the shrimp etc... back into the back bays... but we usually don't catch more than one...

oh and we saw two monsters hangin' together way way way back in the back-lakes... we didn't know they were there, don't think they knew we were there, then I made some noise in the boat and *boom* it was like two whales taking off... they didn't even keep in a channel and swim off, they cut through about four-inch deep water and dropped off into another channel... I don't think they were very hungry, but we may have hooked one had I not had to relieve myself ...:(

it's been about 4 trips since I last "rolled" out of the boat with my phone etc... saved the beer though :D

speaking of sharks... I've found a real good area to wade fish at, but it kinda worries me because every time I go to check out that spot their area dead sharks on the bank...

last time we went to bay fishing we caught a crap load of trout and one gaff top sail hooked too kings but both got off, one was about 4 foot from the boat and tail whipped the and broke the line

I've always liked it, haven't been in a while though... used to get off of work on Friday and head down there to fish at night when the moon wasn't bright... just me, my fishin' poll, my beer and some ahole with about seven deep sea rods taking up the whole freakin' area... only to catch one 20-inch shark and 5 million hardheads while I caught all of the trout... what a waste of space...
