Key players: Forney QB Caleb Hanie, TB Baylen Laury
Aledo RB Ryan Christian, LB Kyle Lowe
About Forney: The Jackrabbits were 12-2 last year losing to only Aledo and Everman, many thought it would be a down year for FHS...if 12-2 is "down" watch out 3A, Hanie is a Colorado St recruit with a big arm and toughness...Laury isn't quite DaBryan Blanton, but with a potent air attack he doesn't need to be...Laury had over 1700 yards and 8 INT's on D as a junior..Forney's defense is a question mark though as many top players have graduated..
About Aledo: The Bearcats were also a team that surprised many as they advanced all the way to the state quarter-finals in 4A before losing a heartbreaker to eventual state champ Denton Ryan..AHS lost all-world Broderick Newton to Texas A&M and his loss leaves a big void..Christian and Kendric Jackson will share the backfield duties behind an inexperienced O-Line..Aledo only has 1 O-Lineman with any varisty experience..Lowe leads a solid D that may have to carry the team while the young offense gels..
Overall: I look for another low scoring game, between 2 of DFW's best..Aledo will be a good team later in the year but Forney is catching them at a good time...Forney by 10..
