A man claiming to be God robbed a bank Tuesday afternoon in North Fort Worth.
The man entered Frost Bank at 3851 Northeast Loop 820 about 2 p.m. and told a teller that he had a weapon and demanded money, Fort Worth police Lt. Dean Sullivan said.
Before the man left with an undisclosed amount of cash, he told the teller not to call police and said, "No one can see me because I am God."
Shortly before the robbery, a Fort Worth police officer spotted a man making strange gestures outside a truck on the Beach Street exit ramp from Northeast Loop 820. When the officer asked what the man was doing, he replied, "I am God, don't you know me?"
The officer told the man to get back in his vehicle and drove away. The man apparently pulled into the bank and robbed it, Lt. Sullivan said.
The man is described as black, between 35 and 45 years old, about 6 feet 3 inches tall and 320 pounds. He has a bald or shaved head and was wearing a black T-shirt with designs on the breast pocket and back, black shorts and black tennis shoes without laces. He has several moles on his neck and a large growth on its lower left side.
Police say the robber may be driving a gold or brown Chevrolet extended-cab pickup that may have had a lawn mower in the bed. Some of the license plate digits may be "7LZ."
Anyone with information can call 817-392-4370, and anyone who sees the man is asked to call 911.
