UT vs A&M Women's Tennis Match

It was supposed to be played in Austin tonight starting at 5:30 P.M. but due to rain it has been rescheduled tonight at 7 P.M. and if it is still raining it may be rescheduled again. We will see.

As of right now it is UT 7.5 A&M 5.

Right now the women's golf is going on and will conclude Wednesday but the Lady Aggies should win that one easily and it will then be 7.5 to 6.

The women's tennis teams were supposed to play to night but it may be moved up again. It is scheduled to begin at 9 P.M. tonight if the rain in Austin lets up.

The rain seems to have stopped in Austin as of right now but I don't know if they will be able to play at 9 P.M. tonight. I won't be able to keep posting but will give the results tomorrow if they play. This could be a critical point in the showdown.

The match was postponed until today at 2:30 P.M. if the weather is good.

It is starting. The Lady Aggies are whipping UT in the doubles matches and lead by 2 games in two of the three matches. This looks like a bad day for UT in the Lone Star Competition.

It is looking a little better even though UT is behind in all three. It is now 2 - 1, 3 - 0, 2 - 1 in favor of the LAdy Aggies.

The Lady Aggies cinch the doubles point. This means UT has to win at least 4 of the 6 individual matches while the Lady Aggies only have to win three. Not looking good for the Lady Horns who lost to the Lady Aggies last year only this year it could make a big difference in the showdown.

It looks like the individual matches are going to be close but by winning the doubles point the Lady Aggies have a big advantage.

UT wins a thrillier 4 - 3. They had to really fight to get this one. UT gets this critical point in the Lone Star Showdown. Congratulations to the Lady Horns shown below for fighting and getting the point. Congratulations to the Lady Aggies for a great effort. Both teams were great.

I am going to post a photo of the four Lady Horns that won their matches to give UT this very important win against an outstanding Lady Aggie Tennis team. Below is senior Ristine Olson. She is the only senior and upper classman to win her match. The other three were won by UT freshmen Ladies with two of them (Corovic and Davison) having to win against Lady Aggie seniors!

This is UT freshman Stephanie Davison who had to beat a Lady Aggie senior for Texas.

This is UT freshman Vanja Corovic. It came down to her match with a Lady Aggie senior that would decide the point. Texas had fought its way back to a 3 - 3 tie. Vanja won a very close match with the final set being a 7 to 6 win. This match was close as Vanja won it 7-5, 4 - 6 and 7 - 6.
