3 1879 Chisholm Grill, Waxahachie...I go over to Wax for lunch sometimes...is this place worth checking out?

4 Oma's Jiffy Burger, Waxahachie...I go over to Wax for lunch sometimes...is this place worth checking out?

5 Busy Bee, Maypearl - I eat at the Busy Bee in Midlothian on a regular basis. Great deserts and good food. Really like the free internet access (non-wifi) there as well.

15 Chaparral Grille, Possum Kingdom Lake - This place is pretty new so maybe I'll check it out some time.

16 Wildcatter Ranch, Graham - Good steaks, VERY GOOD chicken fry, etc. My favorite thing is the tortilla soup. Ask them to bring out a basket of chips from the back! Oh...and they have milk there if you are there for any type of celebration where you brought your own cake.

17 Fort Griffin Mercantile, Albany - This is the same as the Beehive, correct? I'm a huge fan of the Beehive. My friends prefer Perini's (they're about the same distance from north Abilene) but I like the atmosphere (especially the bar area) at the Beehive a lot better.

19 Koffee Kup, Hico - We stopped there once on a tennis trip. Nothing memorable about the food...just remember the stories/rumors that people have regarding the town/restaurant.

Marys in Strawn, very good food. Best CFS anywhere. They have nightly specials from all you can eat CFS, to Sirloin to Mexican food. Koffee Kup is well known for its pies.

Yes, the food is excellent. They offer a variety of American and German homestyle comfort foods. It's quite possibly the best German restauraunt in Texas.

Yes, I have eaten at Clarks in Tioga. Not bad. Sold him a nissan pickup too. But the food was good. My wife and I go over there once in a while. We have Randy Whites in Frisco which is close and where we usually go. And they are pretty good too.

14) Mary's in Strawn. Eaten there many times and I will make you a bet. The beer is the coldest in the area and the food is great. You will not leave hungry. :D

17) Fort Griffin Mercantile (Beehive) You'd never guess that food that great would ever be available inside that place. I do like the bar also Adidas! I have wobbled out of there before. ;)

1 Center Restaurant, Muenster--yeah ... better come empty stomached

14 Mary's Cafe, Strawn--how good is it? Let's just say it's where I proposed to my wife.

19 Koffee Kup, Hico--biggest merangue in the world

20 Clark's Outpost, Tioga--decent barbecue; great sides; and always a cold peach at the end.

21 Turkey Shop, Abbott--at there before the renovation; good highway fare.

Clarks was great, although a little overrated. But the prices weren't bad and it is a decent stop if you happen to be traveling up there.

traildust is very good, and the atmosphere is nice.

Of course, if you are traveling any time soon, the Riverwalk resturant in Mystic, CT or Cucina Stagniole in Greenwich village aren't bad, but since they don't have chili or dr pepper they don't really count in a list of the best.

Bull Frog,

Did you make this list up or did you get it from somewhere else...
