Who's poll is this? The poll has Kennedale dropping to #7 after holding Carter Riverside to 1 yard of total offense?! The final score was 69-0! Was that not enough of a pounding?

Marlin would beat the teams ranked 6 and below with ease now, in a few weeks I believe we would beat 1-6 in a Dog fight, and that includes the Big Dogs. Burnet, yes sir Tank was missed, but his absence pull the Dogs together.

I'm glad to see that you don't have Gilmer as high as some other polls. . . they haven't really played any contenders.

so Forney returns to underdog status. That's usually a very good thing for us, because our boys don't like being dogs.

I would bet within the next 2 weeks Marlin would be back in the polls. Can anyone else not believe that Kennedale did not move up after beating Carter-Riverside??? I mean come on j/k.

Who are Forney's loss, Rice's Loss and Jasper's loss? I think I know, just need some clarification.

Forney lost to Mesquite Horn by 21...Jasper has actually lost 2 games..to PNG and Strake Jesuit..but PNG had to forefit the game..Jasper is playing much better ball now though

To the whiners:

Matthew does as good a job of rating these teams as any individual. I may not agree with him totally, but in the end he is normally a lot closer than any one else. He doesn't use fancy calculators and mathematical equations, he just goes by what he sees and feels.

He researches well, thus has more information available to him than those of us who don't do much more than read the local paper and check out a couple high school football forums.

Just because our local team has a good record, it doesn't mean they will fare well come playoff time. Matthew has seen teams firsthand, knows about traditions, styles, matchups, athletic makeup, etc.

Maybe your favorite team will prove him wrong, I hope mine does. But ease up and remember two important things:

1) This is just an opinion. Nobody gets a trophy if they're in the Top 25 and nobody loses if they're not.

and most importantly:

2) THIS IS HIS SITE! If you don't like his site and his opinion, GO MAKE YOUR OWN SITE! Then you can rank your team wherever you want.

Forney and Jasper? What about them?I don't know about Forney, but Jasper is very big and fast. They come out very strong but tire in the 4th quarter. As I see it, they can stay with anyone through the first half, but if a good team can keep it close, they have a good shot at beating them in the end. Another strong point of theirs is that they create and capitalize on turnovers. Jasper can be beaten, but you must play good ball in order to do it.

Didn't Marlin fall off the map when Ennis got their revenge this year?

It's not the team's fault who they are playing. When the playoffs start, we'll see exactly where Gilmer belongs...top three just like all year long baby.

Ok let me get this straight. Tank would have been able to score 42 points on Burnet? Wow. Color me impressed.

yep marlin fell off the map in a lot of people eyes when we lost to burnet ennis waco u and midway. but i want you to keep this in mind, we had no running game. tank was the reason we almost beat burnet and had alot to do with last years ennis victory. many of you might just say that im riding tank as a superstar but he really is good. now hes slower than last yr because of the knee injury but he still seems to dominate he had 204 yards aganist caldwell on 14 carries 4 td. he had 114 on rokdale in 12 carries 2 td. he had a 162 qaganist troy on 8 carries. he is getting better by the week and so is the marlin o. i wont even be the one to say marlin will make a run for the state title because they still have a lot of improving to be as good as last years team. now what has been done to the bulldogs have been done to the bulldogs their no turning back to play any of the first 8 games, theirs just time to look ahead week by week and lets see how the rest of the season unfolds.

Now if you havent played this team dont put them down from what you hear or what you saw on tape because the bulldogs play diffrent every week its up to u to stop them !

A few things,
1. It's a lot easier NOT being #1 than being #1.
When your NOT #1 people aren't saying bad things about you, nobody cares. You beat somebody
34-0, get 469yds offense and your going down hill.

2. Hey Jason, do you REALLY and TRULY EXPECT to be
ahead of 3 undefeated teams, with having been beaten twice on the scoreboard. Do you want people to think you got something and didn't earn it? On paper you lost 1 game, ON THE SCOREBOARD,
maybe not. Sounds like Matthew has been very reasonable. Burnet DIDN"T PUT THEMSELVES AT #1,
they just have to deal with it.

3. For our dear friends in Marlin, WE WANTED FOR TANK TO PLAY, we knew that some folks would say what you are now. The truth is: Tank played last year, you lost. Do you want to tell us that Tank
would have made 35 points difference. How many games has he done so this year?
Regards,
GreatBigBurnetFan

i wasnt the one from marlin that said tank would make a 35 point diffrence aganist burnet. tank has nothing to do with mcgee burning up marlin d that night all im saying is that the score woulod have been diffrent. aganist burnet marlin had no running game , they relied on the pass and it didt work so 35 -6 was what u got from the game
