It's actually Mike Jones and not Jim.

There is a Mike Jones, but there is a Jim Jones as well. Mike Jones is from Houston, Jim Jones is from Harlem

the People's Temple makes for good reading. A&E, Discovery and Natl Geographic have all had good documentaries on them. Jones' son is still alive and knew back then that his old man was nuts. Wikipedia the story.

in other news....Jim Jones the rapper is somewhat decent.
