very interesting and exciting. Im getting very antsy about an announcement. All the same news is being regurgitated over and over. Apparently there is a meeting scheduled with the team at 4. Also, TKC was in town cleaning out his office and supposedly met with the team some time last night. Hopefully they are not on campus at the same time.

Great coach, morally inept man. That is sad but true. Funny names like KFC & TKC out there now, huh?

Why is he required to have allegiance to A&M when making personal decisions? The Aggies were only interested in him for winning basketball games. If he had been 6-20 for 3 years and wanting to stay...the Ags wouldn't have thought twice about sending him packing.

A lot of people miss the point on our feelings toward TKC. As I have said before, its not the fact that he left, most everyone understands that it is Kentucky. Its the way he left that pissed everyone off. He left without talking to players and recruits and told them all he promised he would be here next fall. Then, instead of doing what most coaches do and meet with his players, he takes the job and only calls Joe Jones before going into the press conference. In fact, Josh Carter found out about him leaving from ESPN even going so far as to call TKC out in the Dallas paper. Most of us just think he handled the situation wrong and never looked back or even cared.

Unless it's something derogatory, my guess would be The Kentucky Coach. I'm sure it could be something far worse though. :)

Exactly, my sentiments in a nutshell & well said. It's the way he left, not why he left for the job at Kentucky. Plus the stuff behind the scenes coming to light now.

the way gillispie left is just part of the business.. when Kentucky one upped a&m's offer he had no choice but to accept it. it was something he thought was best for his family, himself and his career so the choice was probably obvious. it happens all the time in this business Nick Saban did something similar.. Didn't a&m's own coach franchione do the same thing when he stated publicly he was going to stay at alabama before going on to a&m

I realize it may be "part of the Business", but be a freaking man and talk to your team before you just leave. Don't promise things you can't deliver on either. You can never tell what is going to happen, so why even go out and promise yours players you will be here. He put himself into a corner and that really sucks for him. Turgeon accepted the job, flew back to WSU and talked to his players about it, and is now on his way back here to accept the job. Gillispie flew there, took the job and went to a pep rally crying. We all know Fran did it too. Nobody agreed with it then and we still dont agree with it now.
